The
Positive Impressions Questionnaire
(PIQ)
is
an untimed assessment presenting 50 multiple-choice questions that measure
traits to define the type of impression an individual
make on others. There
are five topics covered in this report. These
are: Self-Perception, Emotional Identification, Synergy, Communication Style and
Integrity.
Self-Perception measures an individual’s candor and self-esteem. Candor tells us how consistent a respondent was in their answers. The lower the score, the more consistent and honest the responses. Self-Esteem is how a person views himself/herself in comparison to others.
Emotional
Identification consists of a person’s empathetic/sensitivity or practical
mindedness as well as a person’s self-image.
Synergy
measures cooperative versus competitive, passive versus assertive,
submissive versus aggressive and suspicious versus accepting.
Communication
Style includes the dimensions of serious versus enthusiastic, blunt versus
poised and apprehensive versus over-confident.
Integrity
measures indifferent versus committed and expedient versus conscientious.
